Terminal Update:
Berthing delay situation at Port of Colombo is as follows:
South Asia Gateway Terminal (SAGT): 06 Hours to 18 Hours.
Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT): 12 Hours to 24 Hours.
Jaya Container Terminal (JCT): 48 Hours to 72 Hours.
This is mainly due to the back log of vessels awaiting for cargo operations, especially at JCT.

While port management is doing their best to improve the situation, time to time bad weather conditions because of the monsoon period have resulted in suspension of Navigational movements. Sometimes movements have stopped for 04-06 Hours and thereafter further increasing the delays as vessel movements recommence at all 03 terminals. As per information received from JCT, they expect to clear the backlog by early next week and have the terminal back to a manageable level.

Weather Update:
There is some heavy weather building in the Upper Bay of Bengal, Quarterly swell up to 6m, which is another challenge our vessels will be facing upon their return to Chittagong. Most notably X-PRESS NUPTSE who is having to maneuver her sailing path around the weather system in order to avoid hitting it head on. This has resulted in her ETA and subsequent berthing at Chittagong might be delayed.
