The ongoing strike at Chittagong Port (CGP) has been officially withdrawn, bringing temporary relief to port operations and the wider supply chain.

According to the latest developments, the interim government has decided to back out of the proposed agreement related to the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT). The government has clearly stated that the NCT handover will not take place during its current tenure.

Following this announcement, the Chittagong Port Protection Struggle Council has suspended its previously declared indefinite strike, effective from 09 February until 15 February 2026.

Port users and stakeholders are advised that normal operations are expected to gradually resume, although some backlog and operational adjustments may occur in the short term. Further updates will be shared as the situation continues to evolve.
