China Golden Week 2026: Holiday Dates for Your Shipping Calendar

3 min read

Introduction

China will observe its National Day Golden Week from 1 to 7 October 2026. Many factories, offices, and logistics providers will close or work with smaller teams. Cargo collection, document processing, and handover may slow down. Shipping services will vary by provider and route.

For Bangladesh importers, this raises an urgent question: where is your cargo right now?

Your supplier may say the order is ready, but that does not mean it has left the factory or secured a sailing. A delay at any one step could change the expected arrival.

What Bangladesh Importers Should Check Before Golden Week

A ready order, a collected shipment, and cargo at the terminal each need a different response. Find the stage that matches your shipment. Then check the next step before you set an expected arrival date.

Cargo Still at the Factory

Ask your supplier for two things: a confirmed cargo-ready time and the earliest collection slot. “Production complete” may still leave packing, inspection, or paperwork unfinished.

Next, ask your forwarder whether a truck, receiving facility, and suitable booking can still connect before their cut-offs.

If any link is missing, do not assume the cargo will leave before the holiday. Ask your supplier and forwarder to confirm the next pickup and departure. Use their updates to revise your arrival plan in Bangladesh.

Cargo Collected

The cargo has been collected, but it has not necessarily departed China. Find out whether it has reached the warehouse or terminal and whether it has been accepted. Ask who is handling it during the holiday and whether any document is still pending.

For ocean freight, check the shipping instruction and cargo cut-offs against the confirmed vessel and voyage. For air freight, check acceptance and flight details. If you miss a cut-off, ask your forwarder which sailing or flight can take your cargo next. Then review the expected arrival date.

Cargo at the Terminal

Now the key question changes: is the shipment booked and cleared to move on the planned service? Ask for the latest carrier schedule, booking status, and any revised departure.

Once the terminal receives your container, ask your forwarder to check whether the carrier has accepted it for the planned voyage. Confirm the latest sailing schedule before you update your arrival plan.
